2 weeks ago tonight I went into labor, The girls were in bed it was only 8:00 but I was sooo tired from getting up at 4:30 that morning to get Cliff off to the valley for his apt. so I went to bed and in my light sleep I started to feel some mild cramping going on. I awoke at 10:00 to a little contraction and laid there to see if I would have another, and 10 min later I would. When Cliff came to bed at 11 I told him about them, I wasn't too concerned though since usually when I really go into labor the contractions are at their worst. I just tried to go back to sleep, but of course couldn't because I kept thinking of everything we would need to get ready to go to the hospital, get the cameras, get the girls up and packed to go to g-ma Williams, make sure I got Kaylyns homework, her lunchbox and so on. I finally got into the jacuzzi might as well get in one more before it is weeks before I could again. At 1:30 I got out and started timing my contractions (cliff is just sleeping away). I decided to wake Cliff up and see what he thinks we should do because the contractions still aren't bad and not getting too close together. We decide that it would be best to get up there and get my penicillin going since I tested positive for GBS this time, make sure it has time to get into my system for the babys sake.
We load up everything, drop the girls off, have to stop for gas, and we were on our way. (contractions still the same) We slowed down to see all the elk that were on the side of the road, not in a real hurry to get there. Finally we arrived about 3:30 am get all hooked up on the monitors, fill out the paperwork, answer all the questions and they finally check me and I'm only at a 2. They call Dr. and he says to keep me I'm 39 and 1 day he'd be in to brake my water when he comes in for a c-section at 7:30. So in goes the iv at 4 and will have to have another dose at 8. Contractions still are manageable, the weird thing was that when I would get up and walk to try and help things along the contractions would get further apart, so tried out the ball and that helped.
They asked what I wanted for pain relief and of course I wanted the epidural, they told me that I would have to get it at 7 or else the annisteseologist (sp) would be in with the c-sections for at least an hour and a half, would have to wait until 9 for it, I told them I would take it before, wouldn't want to chance having the contractions get worst before I could get it. I got the epidural at 7 and was loving it, still had not dilated much.
After about an hour I started to feel contractions on my left side, we had the annisteseologist(sp) come back he gave me another dose of med, but it didn't work. I got my other dose of penicillin at 8, Dr came at 9 to brake my water, only dilated to a 7. We had to laugh because I was suppose to have a apt at 9 that morning, but instead he was braking my water. After that I could really feel the contractions on the left side.
Mom and Brian showed up, we thought for sure I would go fast once water broke. Instead we got to hangout and talk for the next 2 and a half hours. They checked me after 11 and said ok we are calling Dr. YEAH finally. Although I was ready to have this baby I was scared to death because I had never felt the pain. Dr shows up at 11:30 preps and after 2 good pushes out she came, thank goodness. I did it the one thing I never thought I would live through I did a natural child birth.
It is always such a relief to get your baby here, to see all 10 toes, 10 fingers and nothing wrong, just a perfect little angel put into your arms to love and to hold and kiss.
Addie has been so wonderful she sleeps so good and when she is awake she is so quiet and wide eyed. But boy do I have my hands full with Taylee she loves to kiss and wants to hold her all the time, and trying to explain to a 22 month old that sister is eating and that she'll have to wait is hard, I think she gets back at me by sneaking off and getting into the laundry detergent and scattering it all over the ground, or getting into the shampoo and her latest is taking her diaper off, I think she would like to potty train but it is kind of hard to right now for me,although it would be nice. She has already climbed into bed with her, The only relief I get is when Taylee is napping or her dad or someone else is around to keep her occupied. Kaylyn just thinks Addie is the cutest thing and also enjoys to hold her when she can.
